If you are looking for architects in Brighton and Hove, one of the first decisions you must make when improving your home is whether or not you need an architect. It can have a significant impact on the cost and quality of construction work.
An architect works on all types of projects from bathroom fitting and kitchen fitting to larger projects like home extensions and new builds.
When you hire an architect, you will get a better finished product. They have extensive training and excel at seeing the “big picture.” They make the best use of the available space, create interesting designs, ensure proper lighting, a pleasant atmosphere, and that the house functions properly.
Architects are good at making sure work is done properly. They are aware of permitted development guidelines and will ensure that the structure meets building control requirements and that you have a structural engineer if one is required.

Planning permission is something that no architect can promise; it’s something that the planning authority decides to grant. An architect should be able to assist you in taking into account statutory requirements and Local Authority guidelines, which may be negotiable, when submitting a planning application.
There are a number of types of Architects Certificates.
During the course of construction, an architect will issue an Interim Certificate to confirm that the work has been completed to their satisfaction and that the client should make a stage payment to the contractor.
A Practical Completion Certificate will mark the end of construction (regardless of latent defects) and transfer ownership of the building to the client; and a Final Completion Certificate will be issued by the architect when the contract is fully and properly completed.
