Payment
Payment/s will be agreed before Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services starts the work. These payments will be agreed in advance of work starting by the customer and Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services. If Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services were unable to complete the works within the agreed timescale, excludes Extra’s, then the customer reserves the right to withhold payment until the agreed works has been completed.
If add on’s / extra’s occur, these should be clearly agreed with the client prior to works being carried out , and detailed via dated email and / or noted on the P ayment f orm, which will then be signed and dated, which will be kept available onsite for the client to refer too and a copy held in Kev Viney’s vehicle. Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will only accept Electronic Transfer, Building Society Cheques, Bankers drafts and cash.
The final payment is due following completion of the agreed works / Estimate. A final inspection by the customer and Rainbow will be carried out. A snagging list will be created at this meeting and 5% of the last payment will be held back until the customer is satisfied that Rainbow has completed the snagging list satisfactorily. Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will not start work on a Managing Agents / Freeholders property until an upfront payment has been received, which is deemed a reasonable percentage sum to the works to be carried out. The amount of the Estimate must be subject to unforeseen contingencies i.e. ground works, extra depth on footings (over 1.0 metres), soak away, damp proofing, neighbours’ ground levels, pipe work, brickwork, roofing, Iron work, building structure, plumbing and Electrics. If extra work is required, the customer will be informed immediately and their permission granted, before this extra work commences.
Extra / Add on’s – Price increase without drawings / measurements on Non-standard size Bathroom, Kitchen – fittings, windows, pipe work, Electrics, tiling and studwork/plastering.
Various
The Planning and Building Application is in the customer’s name. The customer is responsible to obtain the necessary Planning Permissions and Building notice / Completion Certificate from Building Control Department – https://new.brighton-hove.gov.uk/planning-and-buildingregulations/building-regulations/how-apply-building-regulations-approval, once all building inspection/s have been completed, subject to the Electrical Certificate (EICR) having been processed by the Building Control Department. You have agreed consent from the Owner/s or Freeholder/s and or Leaseholder/s that Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building Services can carry out any building or structural work on this property indicated. Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will not be held responsible for any materials supplied by the customer or their contractor that do not fit the required area, which may delay the works. The customer must purchase electrical goods directly. Work is guaranteed for 6 years, from the date of Invoice / completion.
Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will not be held responsible for any work being carried out on a party wall/s. The party wall act / agreement must be dealt with directly by the owner of the property or the Landlord.
Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services cannot be held responsible for unforeseen necessary works after work has commenced. The customer will be made immediately aware and reach agreement for the extra costs / add on’s, which will be detailed on the Payment Form and signed / dated or a dated sent email.
Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services reserve the right to increase the installation costs if the customer purchases additional fixtures and fittings which was not in the Estimate and non-standard size material. The customer will be made immediately aware and reach agreement for the extra costs, which will be detailed on the Payment Form and signed / dated.
Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services strongly would advise customers to remove valuable and personal effects, where work is being carried out.
Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will carry out a reasonable clean after works have been completed. Building waste will be cleared off site, as per the Estimate agreement.
Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will carry out Gas works by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Original pipe work is subject to inspection and immediate onsite repairs, if found faulty. The customer will be made immediately aware and reach agreement for the extra costs, which will be detailed on the Payment Form and signed / dated. Skip/s provided by Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services are the responsibility of the skip company and are for the immediate building work/s waste only, therefore any customers personal waste will be charged at an additional cost and will be classed as extra’s.
Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will advise when starting onsite a risk assessment be carried out and both parties be signed / dated of potential hazards, such as minors and pets onsite and customer personal items be removed from the immediate area of building works being undertaken. Rainbow and their sub-contractors with agreement of the customer, will be allowed to use electricity on site for welfare and tools/plant.
If any of these facilities are not onsite, these will be provided by the main contractor. The Customer has appointed the Architects / Structural Engineers / Surveyor, therefore this is clear agreement with the customer and the for mentioned, if there is a building discrepancy, then additional costs to the customer will be made immediately aware by Rainbow and reach an agreement for the extra costs, which will be detailed on the Payment Form and signed / dated.
Landscaping – This is to be carried out by the customer, unless specified on the estimate.
Carpets / Floor covering – These will be covered up with dust sheets. Pictures will be taken of any marks / stains, prior to building works being undertaken by Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services.
Timescales
Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services cannot be held responsible for increase in timescales due to unforeseen factors / extra’s and will advise the customer of any foreseeable bad weather which may delay works.
Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will Endeavour to start on the date agreed, but Rainbow must be allowed up to10 working days for unforeseen circumstances, i.e. extras add ons requirements by the previous customer or the Building Officer additional requirements or bad weather. Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will contact the client on daily bas is .

Complaints
Under the Provision of Services Regulation 2009, traders are under a legal duty to respond to consumer complaints and
to attempt to resolve complaints. Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical Services will respond to emails
and letters of complaint and return telephone calls swiftly. Where a complaint appears to be valid, Kev Viney t/a Rainbow
Building Services will ensure things are resolved promptly. If Kev Viney t/a Rainbow Building, Plumbing & Electrical
Services disputes liability he will provide a clear explanation of the reasons.
Trading Standards Mediation
